The history of mankind didn’t know any Governor that wanted to keep the memory of his name through the centuries. Abdulaziz-Khan, the descendant of the Ashtarkhanids dynasty wasn’t an exception.

This building is truly unique. It has experienced many occasions in its history, changing shape, name, form, purpose.

Independence square Tashkent is a constant venue for the most important Uzbekistan celebrations, such as Independence Day-September 1, and New Year’s Eve - January 1 with the traditional "Presidential Tree".

This madrasah is one of the major attractions of Gijduvan city, which is 40 kilometres from Bukhara, as well as one of the three that were built by the illustrious grandson of Amir Temur.

This madrasah was built in the 19th century in the southern part of old town, not far from the Beshagach gate by one of the most revered people – Sheikh Abdulkasim. He was a pious person and could recite the Koran by heart.

For many thousands of years, Eastern people have been congratulating each other with New Year at this day (“navruz” means “new”), when Nature wakes up and true Spring comes.

At the entrance to Vabkent (the town, located in the suburbs of Bukhara) we can see how the horizon line is cut through tall & elegant minaret ("Place of kindling" in Arabic meaning), embodied in typical Asian style, with a round base.

In the days before Bukhara even existed, a millenium before Islam was even a glimmer in the Prophet’s eye, the prophet came to the Zerafshan Valley and witnessed a great and terrible drought.
