Route:

➡️ You are met at the airport after your overnight flight from the UK and assisted through immigration and customs before being transferred to your city hotel for an early check-in (included). En route, your guide will give you a short introduction to Uzbekistan, and the rich history and cultural heritage of Tashkent. At the hotel, you will have some free time to relax and unpack. 

After some break, start an excursion along the old part of Tashkent: visit to the Khazrati Imam complex, the library of Koran and other ancient manuscripts, trip on the magnificent Metro to the local market “Chorsu”.

➡️ Early in the morning transfer to Tashkent Domestic Airport to catch a flight to Urgench. On arrival, meet your local driver and transfer to Khiva (30 km), a “Museum under the open sky” in Central Asia. 

Start the excursion inside of Ichan-Kala sight included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. When you look upon the mighty city wall of Khiva with its gates and bastions of clay, you will be taken to another world: around the Kalta Minor Minaret life still pulses today as it did in ancient times. The tour will take you to the palaces, mosques, minarets, and mausoleums to demonstrate what mediaeval oriental urban development must have been like. The city tour revolves around the architectural complex Ichan Kala; Kunya Ark, the khan’s fortress – the internal citadel which seems to have stood still in time. You can spend some time bartering over goods and choosing from an abundance of products before a visit to the Islom Khodja Residence (1910) – the residence of the main vizier of the last Khiva khan. Overnight in Khiva.

➡️ After breakfast you transfer to Bukhara across the mysterious red Kyzul-Kum desert (460 km, 6-7 hrs).  

You’ll be passing desert landscapes and have some stops to see the old Amu Darya River (ancient Oxus).

Arrival at Bukhara, transfer to the hotel and time for rest after the long drive. Overnight in Bukhara.

➡️ Today, you will experience Bukhara in an all-day tour program. Bukhara is a large, unique and authentic art museum that maintains its old oriental face. Situated in the middle of the Kyzyl Kum desert, the ancient city features about one thousand monuments, which recall the halcyon days of the Great Silk Road. Foreign spices, furs and especially silk fabrics were stored and handled in the caravansaries.  

We guide you to one of the most beautiful buildings in Central Asia, the Samanid Mausoleum. You then take a tour through the Citadel Ark to see the coronation hall and Bolo Khauz Mosque nearby. 

Continue the excursion by visiting the magnificent Poyi Kalon Complex that includes Kalon Minaret, Kalon Mosque and Miri Arab Madrasah. Visit to Lyabi Khauz Complex and Nodir Devonbegi Madrasah. 

Walking along the Trading Domes locally known as Coumpol Bazaar consists of three domes Toki Zargaron, Toki Telpak Furushon and Toki Sarrafon. The uniqueness of these objects is also that they’re still located here from the very ancient times of the Great Silk Road. Overnight in Bukhara.

➡️ Today involves a drive to the ancient town of Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of the 14th-century Turco-Mongol conqueror, Timur or Tamerlane. The translation of Shakhrisabz means “Green City” which sits in the south of Uzbekistan. Here in Shakhrisabz (UNESCO-World Heritage Site) you will tour the monumental memorials and also have the opportunity to watch the thriving bustle of this lively town. Visit the ruins of Ak-Saray palace (“the White Palace”) – Tamerlane’s summer residence. Continue by visiting Dosut-Tilovat and Dorus-Saodat Complexes. 

Then you are driven on to Samarkand.  Arrival in Samarkand and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Samarkand.

➡️ After breakfast you start your city tour of Samarkand. Visit to Guri Emir Mausoleum, the burial place of the Timurids dynasty and Rukhabad Mausoleum ("The Spirit Abode") in which dome, it is said, there is a box containing seven hairs of the Prophet Mohammed. Continue with Registan Square ("Sandy Place") is the most visited place in Samarkand, which consists of three magnificent monuments: Ulugbek Madrasa (XV c.), Sherdor Madrasa (XVII c.), and Tillya-Kori Madrasa, along with richly decorated and historically significant mosques that contributed to the beauty of this culturally important period of civilization.

Further visit to Bibi Khanym Mosque built in the middle of the 15th century. Finish today’s excursion by walking at Siyob Bazaar. Overnight in Samarkand.

➡️ After a leisurely breakfast you’ll be driven out of the city to visit Konigil Tourism Village (10 km). Today it’s a big territory with several handicraft workshops located at the same place. Along the excursion, you’ll visit Silk Paper Factory where there is an opportunity to enjoy a process of paper making being kept from ancient times from generation to generation.  

Return to Samarkand and continue through the day to explore this city’s remarkable architecture and historical past. Your guide will take you to the Ulugbek Observatory and Shakhi Zinda Complex to explore the blue-domed necropolis, with tombs dating back to the XI c. Overnight in Samarkand.

You check out by noon and then take it for some shopping day. 
Head to the station to board the high-speed train for Tashkent (subject to availability). You arrive to Tashkent in the evening and will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Tashkent.

➡️ In the morning you are taken on a half-day city tour along the new part of Tashkent: visiting Independence Square, Amir Timur Square and local Broadway, Museum of Applied Arts, Tashkent TV Tower (from outside), Monument of Courage.

Hotels upon the program:

• Most of the hotels in Uzbekistan without elevator

Tickets:

• Domestic flights are subject to change in timing and availability. If the mentioned flight is not available, it will be changed to a convenient one depending on the tour program

• Due to a lack of train – tickets for the fast train “Afrosiab” we keep the right to change it by the usual train or change rout to a bus transfer in that direction. Early booking doesn’t guarantee availability.

Train – tickets are not allowed to be booked and should be issued at once, when the sales are opening.

• We need all group’s passport details to be sent to us 45 – 30  days in advance.

General organizational moments:

• The itinerary is subject to alterations depending on the changes that can be made by the railway lines in their hours and days of operation of the trains

• Please be aware, that there may be various vehicles and drivers used during your tour, depending on the route section and type of transport needed in that section

• The company is not responsible for the weather conditions during the route

• If a place of visit is closed to visitors it will be replaced with an alternative. During major events, accommodation may be changed and replaced with a similar category

• The gratuity for the guide is usually 5 USD per day per person and 3 USD per person per day for drivers (not mandatory)
