Concept

Ashgabat Park opened in April 2018 and was created to celebrate the friendship between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. It takes its name from the Turkmen capital and features architecture and decor inspired by traditional Turkmen design. A prominent element is the eight-pointed star, which shapes the central fountain near the entrance, along with information stands and even flower beds. Akhal-Teke horses, a symbol of Turkmen pride, appear in the form of statues and decorative elements around the park’s central fountain. One of the covered stages even resembles a bird in flight — a nod to the architecture of Ashgabat’s new airport.

Its central location is a major draw, forming a square alongside Central Park and Eco Park, just across from the Catholic Church.

Attractions & Activities

Spanning 12 hectares, the park offers a wide range of affordable entertainment. Half of the space is dedicated to green zones for walking and relaxation. Those looking for active fun can rent bikes or scooters and enjoy a dedicated jogging path. The park is also stroller- and elderly-friendly, with escalators and accessible paths throughout.

Gift certificates are available at the ticket booths — a perfect present for birthdays or school holidays. Frequent visitors and large families can purchase special membership cards.

Weekends bring a lively schedule of local celebrity concerts, animator shows, music festivals, and national holiday events like New Year’s, Navruz, and Independence Day.

Families will love the indoor trampoline zone, which makes playtime possible regardless of the weather. The mini train ride delights younger guests with a charming journey through the park.

The food alley offers a variety of casual dining options.

Evening Vibes

In the evenings, Ashgabat Park truly comes alive. With limited greenery, the area can feel hot during the day, but after sunset it transforms with colourful lighting, cosy LED lamps, and upbeat music, creating a festive atmosphere. Crowds gather to enjoy the cooler temperatures and vibrant energy.

Rides & Features

As of 2024, Ashgabat Park features over 60 attractions and arcade machines. The giant Ferris wheel, visible from almost anywhere in central Tashkent, sparkles beautifully at night. Like the wheel at Anhor Park, it offers enclosed, air-conditioned cabins with 360° panoramic windows, built to modern safety standards.

Other crowd favourites include:

• The go-kart track

• Classic roller coasters

• Chain swings

• The thrilling Pirate Ship ride

Dolphinarium – A One-of-a-Kind Experience

One of the park’s most unique and heartwarming attractions is the Dolphinarium, the only one of its kind in Uzbekistan. Live shows feature playful dolphins, sea lions, and seals, and never fail to leave young audiences wide-eyed with wonder.
